About us
We are a group of artists who have tired of the large commercial portals which lack the staffing to ensure a pleasant and “on topic” environment for the portals’ members.
It was in Sept. of 2009 when Otto Holler and Randy Richmond took the first step by signing up for a free chat room at gixawchat.com. Soon thereafter, the art chat’s following had grown to well over fifty members. It wasn’t very long before Otto, with some encouragement from Carlos, had decided that the time was right to form a new online community. It was at this time that Otto approached programmer and web-developer Albert Dominguez with the idea.
After a few days of feedback and discussion, this blog went online 22 October 2009.
Mission Statement:
Our goal is to develop an online environment where artists can share and discuss all things related to art and meet others who create it. Our emphasis on the quality of our community members serves to foster an online platform as free as possible from trolls, spammers and other forms of harassment associated with the anonymity of the large commercial web portals.
